Supporter & Member Engagement for Sports Bodies and Charities

For sports bodies, charities, and member-based organisations, Wycane designs engagement approaches that focus on retention and lifetime value rather than one-off campaigns. Supporters are recognised and engaged in ways that build enduring relationships.

Wycane identifies key supporter segments, designs recognition-led engagement journeys, and integrates communication, participation, and fundraising pathways. Measurement frameworks provide visibility over supporter value and retention, enabling more predictable fundraising and stronger community connection.

Business Use Case

National Sports Body Harnessing Its Supporter Community for Fundraising

Client Overview

With funding cuts national sports bodies are looking for ways to increase funding so wanting to tap into their supporter base.

Challenge

Supporter engagement has historically been episodic, focused on particular competitions, with little or no ongoing interaction. The organisation is not able to tap into a harnessed community as no structure has been built for the community of supporters and potential donors to be involved in.

Our Approach

We would design a supporter engagement and loyalty framework. It will include:

  • Identifying key supporter segments and engagement behaviours.

  • Building and extending database of supporters

  • Implementing a CRM to store information so organisation can maintain relevance to the supporters

  • Designing recognition-led engagement pathways aligned to fundraising objectives.

  • Integrated engagement, communication, and fundraising journeys.

  • Established measurement to track supporter lifetime value and retention.

  • Creating an online, mobile first means of engagement so supporters can be engaged frequently.

Expected Outcome

The organisation will build a more connected support community with clearer pathways from engagement to giving.

Probable Impact

  • Improved supporter retention and participation.

  • Stronger, more predictable fundraising outcomes.

  • Deeper emotional connection between supporters and the sport.
